The stereotypical student get stressed during the week, and turn to alcohol, bars, fraternity parties, and dancing on the weekends. What Causes Emetophobia?

Most phobias, including Emetophobia, usually develop from specific childhood experiences that severely traumatized the individual. When a young child experience a traumatic event their brain takes action to prevent that traumatic situation from being encountered again in the future by imbuing them with a fear of those circumstances. In the case of Emetophobia, things related to an instance of vomit become feared.

Emetophobia is an extreme and irrational fear of vomit. Emetophobes (people who suffer from Emetophobia) experience intense anxiety over thoughts of themselves vomiting, or vomit being anywhere in their nearby vicinity. The fear of vomit is one of the most common phobias in the world, but is also a phobia that few people are aware of. It is often misdiagnosed, or not realized to be an actually condition.
